Sixth Street Rats

The Sixth Street Rats (or the SSR) are the oldest gang in New Dublin. Started by Johnny J. Johnson, or Trip-J, it started out small with a few car robberies and turned into one of the larger of the gangs. They’re known for their flashy cars and while not as violent as the Cybermen, they’re known to not hesitate to kill when needed.

Leaders: Alan Murphy Jr.
Headquarters: Murphy’s Garage

The SSR is run by Alan Murphy Jr., his word is law. Run like a well oiled Organization, Murphy owns the auto shop that fixes up and tricks out most of the street and race cars in the city. All the illegal activity is run through his lieutenants and their men, but they all go to Murphy for Guidance.

Sixth Street Rats are best known for car theft, and have two chop shops in the city. They’ve also been known to do some minor b&e’s as well as pick-pocketing. All members get a 30% take of anything they bring in- the rest goes back into the gang.

SSR street races are one of the most popular events in the city. They’re never in the same place and never have the same cars (or at least it -looks- like different cars). They bring out all sorts of people, both gang members and not. There are frequent times that members of other gangs will attend the races as well.

SSR are gun and knife fighters. They are the best of all the groups when it comes to guns and are actually also known for their torture techniques. Best not be a real rat against the Sixth Street Rats.

Trust is big with the SSR, you have to earn your trust. A guy can go months, even a few years doing petty stuff before getting in on the bigger crimes because their trust is being tested. Not just anyone can get in, you have to know a guy who knows a guy kinda thing- but if you can get someone to vouch for you, then at least you have an in.

Most members end up being men, there are a few female members but most of them have had to prove themselves better than most of the guys to join. There are more unofficial female members who Old Lady’s to their men, or those who want to become old ladies called Rat Traps.

While no uniform per se, most members of the SSR tend to wear various shades of green, many even wearing green bandannas when doing club business. All businesses owned by the SSR, members of the SSR or non-members who pledge loyalty to the SSR have a green checkered flag in their windows like this example:
